Retirees of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch were informed by letter on Dec. 7, 2009 that Lee Enterprises was eliminating their Health insurance for former employees of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The letter states, that despite promises and contractual guarantees, the retirees are now responsible for paying 100% of their own medical insurance. The retirees gathered outside the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to voice their anger over Lee’s outrageously greedy actions. The retirees marched outside the building, gathered around a giant inflatable rat, and sang an altered Christmas carol to the tune of Jingle Bells to protest.
