The UK Gov has decided to end the reciprocalhealth agreement with the Isle of Man – this means that from April 2010 , UK residents visiting the Island will no longer be covered for medical care and the Islands residents will not be covered for medical care should they fall ill while visiting UK .

Even residents in either place who have served in British Armed Forces and paid years of national insurance to the UK Gov will now need private medical insurance to travel within Britain safely .

The UK has a reciprocal health agreement with the following countries and no explanation has been given as to why the Isle of Man (which is entirely a part of Britian) is to be abandoned .

Belarus
Bosnia
Croatia
Falkland Isles
Gorgia
Kasakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Macedonia
Moidova
Russia
St Helena
Serbia
Montenegro
Tajakistan
Turkmenistan
Turks and Caicos Islands
Uzbekistan
Ukraine
There are no plans to end the health agreement with these countries ?

Please note that many UK MP’s are completely unaware of this planned change and it seems whoever decided upon it is attempting to sneek it in unopposed .

Thank you Ashco for your added comment however it made me wonder if i have made it clear that the Queen of England will not be able to travel to the Isle of Man without private medical insurance (although im sure she has it) . It is not just Manx people but English decendants of Oliver Cromwell as well that will be effected by this abomination !
